Christmas Parades Continue in Moniteau County Area

Christmas parades in the area continue this week on Saturday, Dec. 11, include the Russellville Christmas Parade starting at 10 a.m., and the Prairie Home Christmas Parade at 1 p.m. with the theme of "Christmas at the North Pole." The parade will feature the Blind Boone Highsteppers.

In addition to the parade, the day at Prairie Home is a festival including a craft show from 9 a.m. to 3.p.m., lunch in the school cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Santa handing out treats at the school after the parade. Other activities throughout the day will include a cookie contest, best decorated Christmas cake contest, kids' poster contest, prince and princess contest, best decorated bike contest, and best dressed pet contest.

The Clarksburg Christmas parade begins at 5 p.m. and ends at the CCBO annex historical building where Santa will be present. A supper including ham and beans, chili and hot dogs will be available at the annex from 5 to 8 p.m.

Other Christmas parades in the area were Jamestown and California on Saturday, Dec. 4, and the Tipton parade on Friday, Nov. 26.
