Cole County R-1 School Board Meets

The Cole County R-1 School Board held its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18. Under new business, the Board voted to approve the consent agenda as presented and a payroll fund transfer of $195,000.

Andrew Ford presented a report of the Eagle Scout project he did for his badge. His project involved installing lights at the flagpoles on each campus. Ford had a slide presentation of the project for the Board and presented a United States and Missouri State flag to the Board along with a certificate stating each flag was flown over the Missouri Capitol Building.

The Board approved the Surplus Tax reimbursement agreement that was proposed by the Cole County Collector. The district will pay back $91,367.89 over a 10-year period and the annual payments will be $9,136.79.

The Board decided to table the selection of the Energy Performance Contracts and discussion on the Track Project. The Board plans to proceed by getting bids from engineering companies to do the final design. The Board approved the purchase of a new floor scrubber from GB Maintenance and two minivans from Surplus Property for $5,100 and a request from the Sports Crusaders to use the school facilities during the last week of June 2011.

The Board concluded the meeting by going into closed session to discuss personnel, but no action was taken.
