New Club Forms at California High School

California High School students have formed another new student group this year.

The Laser Literarians or Writers Club meet every other Friday after school in sponsor Jeannie Martin-Webb's room. This club writes and reads short stories and poems for about an hour during each meeting. There are also snacks provided.

When asked what she likes about the club, Michelle Brougham, senior, said, "I like the group activities, we ripped out pages of a book and made our own book, and one time we brainstormed random words and made a short story out of them."

The writer's club recently held a Christmas party at Pizza Hut.

Brougham says that this club has helped her poetry writing, while Ashlee Davis, junior, says that this club has helped with her timing when it comes to her writing.

The club is open to anyone who likes to write or read short stories or poems and who has time to stay for the meetings.
