Distinguished Concerts International in New York City (DCINY) recently announced California High School Choral Director Michele Bilyeu and five members of the CHS Choir have been invited to perform April 18 at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.

California Ministerial Alliance Holds Thanksgiving Meal at Nutrition Center
Loretta Hutchison has helped out with the annual Thanksgiving meal at the California Nutrition Center since 1987. She had heard about the event and was looking for something to fill up the vacant space left after losing her husband the same year. Volunteering at the center and helping out with the meal held by the California Ministerial Alliance has been great for Hutchison and something which has been a blessing for her.
New Building Bought for California Prosecutor's Office
The Moniteau County Commission plans the final signing today (Wednesday) which will add the building at the southeast corner of Main Street and East Street on the Moniteau County Courthouse Square in California to the roll of county-owned properties.

The 2010 Moniteau County taxes will be mailed out Friday, Nov. 5, 2010. The real estate tax to be collected for 2010 amounts to $5,838,422.94 and the personal tax will be $2,122,972.88. Railroad and Utility tax is $1,311,865.90.

Lady Pintos claim district title; end season with loss at sectionals
After defeating Cole Camp and Stover last week at the Class 2 District 13 Volleyball Tournament to capture the district championship, the California Lady Pintos advanced to Class 2 Sectionals Saturday at California High School, where they lost to St. Joseph’s Bishop LeBlond 25-20, 21-25 and 15-25 to end the season 19-11-1.

Lady Indian cross country runners win district championship
The Russellville High School cross country team competed at the Class 1 District 3 meet at Linn Saturday, where the Lady Indians won the district championship with 31, while the Indians finished sixth with 127. Linn won the boys’ division with 35.
