Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday; set clocks
Friday, November 5, 2010
Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2 a.m. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour and catch that extra hour of sleep.
Because of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Day Light Saving begins the second Sunday in March when clocks are turned forward an hour and ends the first Sunday in November when clocks are set back an hour.
According to several sources, Daylight Saving Time is not observed in Arizona, Hawaii and some U.S. territories. The Navajo Nation, with its location across three states, including Arizona, participates. The Hopi Nation, which is within the Navajo Nation in Arizona, does not observe Daylight Saving Time.
When changing the time on clocks, it is a good time to change batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in homes.
