CMS Lady Pintos capture wins against Osage

The California Middle School volleyball teams hosted Osage Oct. 4, where both Lady Pinto teams captured a match win.

California's seventh grade won 25-20, 11-25 and 25-19.

Adrienne Strickfaden led California serving with 13, followed by Claire Kuhlman with 12. Ashtyn Goans and Strickfaden each contributed 14 bumps while Madilyn Safley had 12 sets. Rozalyn Martensen had five spikes followed by Renee Roberts and Goans with three. Madison Taggart had one block.

"The girls played the most aggressive front row game I've seen out of them all season," CMS Coach Tiffany Brown said. "Their constant presence at the net kept Osage from winning by tipping or spiking."

California's eighth grade won 25-15, 20-25 and 25-19.

"The girls played great the first match and then fell apart for the second match and then fought hard the third match to take the win," CMS Coach Jennifer Porter said.

Morgan Henley led the Lady Pintos during the first game with 10 service points, followed by Paige Halsey with seven. Kelsey Roush, Halsey and Abby Strickfaden each contributed four bumps. Strickfaden also had two spikes.

Henley led the Lady Pintos in the second game with eight service points and seven sets, followed by Kamryn Koetting with four service points. Roush had 11 bumps and Halsey had 10.

Henley led the Lady Pintos in the third game with nine service points. Roush and Strickfaden each had four bumps. Henley contributed five sets, while Strickfaden had three. Roush had three spikes.

The eighth grade Lady Pintos will be on the road Thursday for a match against Laura Speed at 5:30 p.m.
