California City Wide Clean-up scheduled

The City of California residential clean-up week will be held April 11-15. City crews along with Allied Waste will begin picking up trash at curbside at 6 a.m. It will be helpful for collection to have items in boxes or trash bags.

Large items pickup, including appliances, furniture and trimmed brush up to four inches in diameter should also be placed at curbside. Any old lumber or metal must be cut into four foot lenghths and tied into bundles for accessibility of the packer truck.

Items that cannot be picked up are leaves, grass clippings, yard waste, hazardous or flammable household liquids, unclean paint clans, automobile parts including tires and batteries, rocks, bricks or concrete.

The schedule for pickup of all items included in curbside collection will be as follows:

April 11 - Northeast section (North of Highway 50 and east of Highway 87);

April 12 - Northwest section (North of Highway 50 and West of Highway 87);

April 13 - Southwest section (South of Highway 50 and West of Highway 87);

April 14 - Southeast section (South of Highway 50 and East of Highway 87);

April 15 - Friday recheck city for additional pickup.
