Upcoming Road Work for Mid-Missouri April 6 – April 15

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the week of April 6 – April 15, 2011. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.

Boone County

Daylight Hours

Route 740 bridge over Hinkson Creek, just west of old Route 63 – Routine bridge inspection in the eastbound and westbound lanes is scheduled during the week of April 11. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Route 63 bridge over Interstate 70 – Routine bridge inspection in the northbound and southbound lanes is scheduled during the week of April 11. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Route 163 bridge over Hinkson Creek, one mile south of Route 740 – Routine bridge inspection in the eastbound and westbound lanes is scheduled during the week of April 11. One eastbound and westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Interstate 70 Northeast Outer Road bridge over Little Cedar Creek, one mile east of Route Z – Bridge replacement is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, April 6. The bridge will be closed to traffic during construction. The bridge is scheduled to be closed approximately 57 days. Motorist should seek alternate routes around the work. This is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program. Interstate 70 Drive Southwest over Harmony Creek, 1.5 miles west of Route 740 – Bridge is nearing completion. The bridge is scheduled to open to traffic the week of April 4. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Route WW bridge over the North Fork of Grindstone Creek, approximately one mile east of Route 63 – Bridge replacement is nearing completion. The bridge is scheduled to open to traffic Saturday, April 9. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Cole County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 Eastbound/Route 63 Northbound at the Missouri River Bridge – Construction of a pedestrian/bicycle bridge attachment is nearing completion. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 8 at 10:30 a.m.

  • The work zone area on U.S. 54 eastbound and across the bridge was scheduled to be removed and restriped during the overnight hours on Friday, April 1.

  • The Main Street ramp to the bridge remains closed to traffic until the entire project is complete.

  • The bicycle/pedestrian attachment will open after the ribbon-cutting on April 8. Route 50 bridge over the Osage River – Routine bridge inspection in the eastbound lanes is scheduled during the week of April 4. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 50 between Henwick Lane and Murphy Ford Road – Concrete replacement in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place at various locations Wednesday, April 6 and Thursday, April 7. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Route T between Old Route 50 – Roadway maintenance and repair will take place in various locations Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through each work area.

Cooper County

Daylight Hours

Route OO bridge over Chouteau Creek – Routine bridge inspection is scheduled during the week of April 4. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route M bridge over the Lamine River – Routine bridge inspection is scheduled during the week of April 4. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route V bridge over the Petite Saline Creek, approximately two miles south of Route 179 – Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until mid April. Motorists should find alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Moniteau County

Daylight Hours

Route MM between Route F and the end of state maintenance – Roadway repair continues through Friday, April 8. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route E bridge over Dry Fork, one mile south of Route 50 - Bridge replacement began Monday, April 4. The bridge is closed to traffic until mid-May. Motorists should seek alternate routes. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Morgan County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 between Syracuse and the Pettis County line – Concrete replacement continues through Friday, April 15. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Pettis County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 between the Morgan County line and Route M – Concrete replacement continues through Friday, April 15. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 50 between the Pettis County line and the city limits of Sedalia – Shoulder work will begin the week of April 4 and continue through late April. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route ZZ between Route 52 to the city limits of Ionia – Roadside maintenance will take place on Wednesday, April 6. This is a moving operation and motorists should drive through the area with caution.

Route EE between Route J and Route HH – Roadside maintenance will take place on Wednesday, April 6. This is a moving operation and motorists should drive through the area with caution.

Route O between Route 50 and Route N – Roadside maintenance will take place Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8. This is a moving operation and motorists should drive through the area with caution.

Route H between Route D and Route 65 – Concrete repair will take place Tuesday, April 12 and Wednesday, April 13. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Z between Route N and the Cooper County line – Concrete repair will take place Thursday, April 14 and Friday, April 15. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route V bridge over Spring Fork Creek, east of Route 65 – Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until early May. Motorists are being detoured around the work area on U.S. 65, Route 52 and Route U. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
