High Point Baptist Church Celebrates Easter With Sunrise Service
Tuesday, April 26, 2011
Many church members of High Point Baptist Church came out for their Easter Sunrise Service held Sunday, April 24. Pastor Glen Golden said the events of the week for the church included a traditional Good Friday service and on Thursday, April 21, a Tenebrae Service which examined seven scenes of the dark hours of, "Jesus Christ's betrayal, accusation, desertion and having to bear the sins and be buried in a borrowed tomb."
Golden said they extinguished candles as each scene spoken in the scriptures was over. The rejoicing and celebrating the resurrection happened during Easter morning.
