New First Christian Church, FCC, (Disciples of Christ) Pastor Dan Rowlison comes to California after serving for 33 years in Nebraska and Iowa. Rowlison said he was concluding a ministry in central Nebraska and seeking God’s direction when he heard of FCC’s search through an online service.
"The church was looking for a minister and posted the opening in a sort of ministerial classifieds. I contacted them and sent a resume. They followed up with a phone interview and we got together the first weekend in May. I came to preach and meet people and had an enjoyable time. They did as well, so much so, they called me back the first week of June to do it again. We seemed to fit together well and now I am here in my first ministry in Missouri."
Rowlison said the process of going into ministry was the next logical step as far as his faith was concerned. When he came to Christ many years ago, it was with what he called an "unreserved quality," a willingness to do whatever was asked of him. As a teenager he shared amongst his peers and prepared for that “next step.” He attended Nebraska Christian College in northeast Nebraska and prepared for that “next step.” From college he began his life of ministry and said he has never slowed from there.
