The California R-I School District tax levy rate hearing has been set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, just prior to the regular monthly meeting of the School Board.
The board actually plans to meet at 5:30 p.m. at the high school for a walk-through to see the work done over the summer to ready the school for the incoming students. Following the high school inspection, the board members will tour the middle school and the elementary school before going to the meeting room for the tax levy rate hearing.
The first day of school at California R-I is Aug. 18. Because of a change from seven to eight classes each school day at the high school level, and the classes which are four minutes shorter, the school day starts at 7:55 a.m., five minutes earlier than last year, and ends at 2:54 p.m., eight minutes later.
