One of the most popular events at the Moniteau County Fair is the annual baby show, which drew about 70 competitiors Saturday, Aug. 6, at the main arena of the fairgrounds, despite temperatures that climbed as high as 100 degrees.

"The number of entrants was definitely down this year," Event coordinator Sally Vogel said. "I'm sure the heat was a big factor. We had quite a few entrants who were registered, but then didn't show up for the contest. It was just miserably hot."

Judges ultimately chose three winners in each of the seven age categories, except for the Twins Under 2 Years category, which only had two entrants.
