Cole County R-1 School Board Sets Tax Rate Hearing Date at July Meeting

The Cole County R-1 School Board held its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, July 21. The Board adopted the agenda and the administrators presented their reports.

Under new business, the Board approved the Consent Agenda as presented and a payroll fund transfer of $35,000.

The Board set the Tax Rate Hearing for Aug. 18, at 6:15 p.m., in the high school library. James Stark and Chris Hart updated the Board about the progress on the track. Twehous Construction is ahead of schedule and progressing very well. The power line has been relocated by Ameren UE to the west side of the property. Phase II of the track project has been advertised for bid. Phase II will include the track surface, track lighting, site lighting, fencing and irrigation. The Energy Performance Project is 70 percent complete and on schedule to be done prior to school starting. Jana Thompson presented the Professional Development Program report to the Board. The Board approved the PDC Plan and Budget. The Board accepted the milk bid for the 2011-2012 school year. The Board approved the School Resource Office agreement for the 2011-2012 school year and getting bids for a school marquee sign.

The next Board meeting will be Thursday, Aug. 18.
