California Progress, Inc. (CPI) discussed the Finke Theatre's rain-damaged curtain at its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Wood Place Public Library.
A storm which struck the area in July 2010 damaged the roof and allowed rainwater to enter the structure and run down one of the curtains. Although only one of the curtains was damaged, theater specialists are of the opinion the dye lots are unlikely to match. Therefore, the recommendation is to replace all three. The insurance carrier denied the validity of the claim.
The board directed bids to be sought for the curtain replacement.
