John Bolinger, DVM., said his interest in veterinary medicine started with working at a sale barn in Versailles. Working and spending time with veterinarian John Groves, DVM, and the people associated with the sale barn was something Bolinger liked and wanted to do.

"People got me into being a cattle veterinarian," Bolinger said, "I like working with people in agriculture."

After graduating from California High School in 2000, Bolinger enrolled and later graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 2004, continued on at the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated in 2008. After veterinarian school, he worked for another two years with Groves before starting Bolinger Veterinary Service, located at 311 West Highway 50, Tipton, in December 2010.

"We are a mobile veterinarian clinic," Bolinger said. "Our office here is in Tipton which is centrally located, but we do not look at any cattle here. I primarily just do beef cattle and do not do any small animal work. Pretty much all of our work is done out on the farms except for some computer work, meetings and some items we have for sale. On Mondays I also go to Sedalia and work at the Central Missouri Sales Company sale barn."
