Beverly Denise Barbour, 62, of California, Mo., passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

She was born on February 3, 1949 at Latham Hospital in California, Mo., the daughter of Dennis and Carmen (Flippin) Dunham, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on August 12, 1967 at First Baptist Church in California, to David Barbour, who survives of the home.

She was a graduate of California High School and the beauty college now known as Merrell University in Jefferson City. Beverly's career began at Hazel's Beauty Shop, she was owner and operator of California Hairstyles and Beverly's Beauty Shop, and she worked at Carol's Beauty Shop. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church where she found peace within her faith. She loved being with her family and grandchildren; she always managed to find humor in things. She enjoyed crafting and artwork, was a very creative person and an avid reader.

She is survived by one son, Bryan Barbour and wife Tara of California; one daughter, Lynn Schmitz and husband Dan of Jefferson City; one sister, Marlys Schulte and husband Dale of Jefferson City; dive grandchildren, Molly Schmitz, Ethan Schmitz, Libby Schmitz, Kolten Barbour and McKayne Barbour; one niece Stephanie Vaughan and husband Danny of Jefferson City, and one nephew, Stephen Schulte and wife Heather of Wildwood, Mo.; and five great-nieces and nephews, Curtis, Lyndsey, Casi, Kyleigh and Karsten.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church in California, Mo. Burial will be in California City Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Fred Elskamp. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service following at 7:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo.

Memorials are suggested to Beverly's grandchildren's college fund, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo.

HAMPTON

William B. "Dick" Hampton Jr., 79, Melvern, Kan., died Aug. 20, 2011, at Newman Hospital in Emporia.

He was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Jamestown, son of W.B. and Euda Jane Nickles Hampton. He married Reta Ambrose in 1951. He was then married married to Phyllis R. Emely on July 18, 1993, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Karen Hampton-Pine; one son, William B. Hampton, III; one sister, Patsy Huth, Jefferson City; two brothers, David Hampton, California, and Nick Hampton, Jefferson City; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Aug. 24, at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, Lebo. Burial will be at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia.
