During the December Court of Honor Ceremony held Monday, Dec. 19, longtime scouter and volunteer Richard Schroeder was honored by Troop 120 and the City of California naming the scouthouse in his honor.

The Cole County R-1 School Board held its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Dec. 26. Under new business, the Board voted to approve the consent agenda as presented. The Board approved a payroll fund transfer of $189,000.

California’s varsity boys faced off with the Moberly Spartans Tuesday afternoon at the Missouri National Guard Shootout at Fleming Fieldhouse, where the Pintos secured a 43-40 win, thanks to a last-second 3-pointer shot by senior Taron Morris.

The California Middle School eighth grade girls basketball team participated in the Jefferson City Eighth Grade Tournament Dec. 12-14 at Thomas Jefferson School, where the Lady Pintos ultimately lost the championship game 42-27 to West Jr., to finish in second place.
