Judges replace new state Senate districts with newer map

The six-judge panel charged with drawing new House and Senate district boundaries for the Missouri Legislature on Friday filed a revised Senate plan with Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, replacing the map released Nov. 30.

Only the Senate map was changed, and the revised map makes no changes in Mid-Missouri.

But the new map made a number of changes in the St. Louis, Kansas City and Springfield areas.

In a statement, the six-judge panel said: "A majority of the Commission opted to revise the plan upon further consideration of a constitutional provision regarding multi-district counties, even though that provision may not apply to redistricting maps drawn by the appellate judges."
