Russellville Girls
Russellville's varsity and JV girls basketball teams were on the road Dec. 5 for games against South Callaway, where both teams captured a win.
During the varsity game, Russellville senior Amber Duncan scored her 1,000th career point.
"The varsity game was a struggle," Russellville Coach David Volkart said. "We didn't shoot very well and South Callaway was very prepared. Nothing seemed to work for us and we never established any kind of rhythm. I'm glad the girls found a way to win."
Kennedy Volkart led Russellville with 15 points, followed by Duncan with 13.
Russellville's JV defeated South Callaway 47-18.
"The JV girls came out and played really well," Volkart said. "Defensively, we set the tone and never looked back."
