Speech Team Takes Thrid at Cole Camp

On Saturday, Dec. 3 the California speech team competed at the Cole Camp Speech Tournament. The California speech team had 15 members compete on Saturday.

There were 11 categories for students to compete in. This was the teams third competition of the year. (Seven of 15 advanced to finals with nine total entries into finals.)

The participating team members were Abbi Fast, Alex Davis, Ashlee Davis, Audrey Imhoff, Caitlin Dummermuth, Courtney Kilmer, Dylan Ramey, Haley McMillian, Kassi Meisenheimer, Kim Summey, Kristen Dummermuth, Maria Banda, Nate Burkett, Sarah Couchman, and Walter Juarez.

Students that placed in finals were Kassi Meisenheimer 1st in Humorous Interpretation, 2nd in Poetry, and 2nd in Dramatic Interpretation. Ashlee Davis 2nd in Prose and 5th in Duet Acting. Audrey Imhoff 3rd in Prose. Maria Banda 4th in Prose. Alex Davis 2nd in Radio. Sarah Couchman 5th in Duet Acting. Nate Burkett 5th in Improvisational Duet Acting. Walter Juarez 5th in Improvisational Duet acting.

Also, with a competition theme of the 80s, the students could participate in an 80s lip sync competition to the song Jessie's Girl. Students Alex Davis, Audrey Imhoff, Kristen Dummermuth, Caitlin Dummermuth, Kassi Meisenheimer, and Kim Summey placed 4th.
