The California Middle School eighth grade girls basketball team participated in the Jefferson City Eighth Grade Tournament Dec. 12-14 at Thomas Jefferson School, where the Lady Pintos ultimately lost the championship game 42-27 to West Jr., to finish in second place.
"The girls played hard throughout a very intense and agressive game," California Coach Jennifer Porter said. "Turnovers and missed freethrows hurt us."
Mara Caudel led California with 13 points and six rebounds. Roz Martensen followed with seven points and six rebounds.
