The USPS Mobile application (app) for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch mobile digital devices recently added an upgrade that's sure to increase its popularity. The app, which already is the No. 1 free business app at the Apple Computers App Store, now includes a postage price calculator.
Customers can enter basic information - such as the "to" and "from" ZIP codes and the size of the package - and the calculator will determine the postage.
If they don't know the weight of your package, customers can enter household items to use for weight comparison. Also, customers can view a price list of USPS flat-rate products, taking the guesswork out of determining the exact weight.
Released about a year ago, the USPS Mobile app gives on-the-go customers instant access to the most popular tools on usps.com, including Track and Confirm, Locate a Post Office and ZIP Code lookup.
To date, there have been 744,995 downloads of the app since its debut.
USPS applications for other Internet-enabled mobile devices are in development.
