California City workers plowed through the night and left paths to drive on after the enormous snowfall Tuesday, Feb. 1 through Wednesday, Feb. 3.

Travel in the area became hazardous on Monday, Jan. 31, as freezing rain coated the streets, bringing the street and road crews out.

On Tuesday, the city street crews began working 12-hour shifts 24 hours a day. Although it was not possible to keep up with the heavy snow as it fell and drifted, the crews made passes on the city streets in an attempt to keep them passable. Little actual headway was possible until the snow stopped and on Wednesday, most of the city streets were impassable.
