Community Briefing Scheduled to Discuss Bridge Replacement Project in Moniteau County

The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open-house community briefing on Tuesday, March 1, from 4:30 - 6:15 p.m. to discuss plans to replace the Dry Fork Bridge on Route E in Moniteau County. The bridge is located just over one mile south of U.S. 50.

The community briefing will be held in the library of the California High School, 1501 West Buchanan, in California, No formal presentations will be made and the public may attend the briefing at any time during the advertised hours. Staff from MoDOT will be available to talk with the public about the project plan and schedule, estimated closure duration, proposed detour, and answer any questions.

The bridge will be closed during construction, which is scheduled for spring 2011.

The Dry Fork Bridge is part of MoDOT's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program, which will improve 800 of Missouri's worst bridges by the end of 2013. Ninety bridges are being replaced or repaired in the mid-Missouri area as part of this program.
