Fundraising in Works for Sareena Roll

Fundraising is continuing on behalf of Sareena Roll, 6, daughter of Bill Roll and Brandi Williams.

According to information provided, the youngster contracted Influenza A and a Group A Strep infection about the first of February. She was initially taken to a Jefferson City emergency room and then transferred to Women's and Children's Hospital in Columbia.

In spite of treatment, the infection spread and she developed severe bilateral pneumonia, then the infection reached her blood stream. Although Sareena's condition appeared to be improving, she developed a severe lung condition called Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). It is difficult to treat and as a result she has been flown to the University of Michigan for the attention of a pediatric pulmonologist who is a specialist in ARDS.

Fundraising for the parents, who are both long-time employees in the ambulance district and Emergency 911 system, has been initiatd to assist them with unexpected travel expenses, loss of income and climbing healthcare bills.

Requests are made to keep Sareena in prayers and help with contributions. Contributions can be made on PayPal by sending a donation to [email protected]. The PayPal account is set up to receive funds strictly for Sareena and her family. There is also a fundraiser dinner from 5 tp 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25 at the Assembly of God Gymnasium at 501 West Hick in Versailles. For information, call 573-378-9674 or 573-789-6940.
