BOWLIN

John R. Bowlin of Kansas City, Mo., died on December 13, 2010 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Mo.

John was born July 27, 1935 in California, Mo., to Earl and Clara (Howard) Bowlin. He graduated from the California High School in 1953 and then enlisted in the United States Navy in 1954.

On May 29, 1955, he was united in marriage to Janet Zimmerman. They had two children. John graduated in 1960 from the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science, and then returned to California where he joined the family business at Bowlin Funeral Home. He moved to Kansas City, Mo. in 1987 and has been employed at Park Lawn Funeral Home until his death.

John is survived by his wife, Janet; his son, Dr. Steve Bowlin and wife Cindy, of Kansas City, Kan.; his daughter, Brenda Cagle and husband Clayton, of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Michelle Bowlin Cronk, and husband Doug, of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandsons, Greg Bowlin of Kansas City, Mo., Kurtis and Bradley Cagle of Houston, Texas; two great-grandsons, Zackary and Ian Cronk; and his brother, Jack Bowlin, and wife Carole, of California, Mo.

Visitation with a celebration of life service was held Thursday, December 16, at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. Hwy. 291, Liberty, MO 64068.

In California, Mo., visitation, followed by his funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, December 17, at the First Baptist Church of California. Burial followed in the California City Cemetery.

"We don't know each other!" but we smile anyway.... Jeff Barnett and T.J.

Marion F. Baer, 83, of California, Mo., passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Moniteau Care Center.

She was born on February 11, 1927 in Lupus, Mo., the daughter of Carl and Ruth (Hampton) George, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on September 8, 1946 in Moniteau County to Gerald William Baer, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1998.

She was a 1944 graduate of Jamestown High School. She was a homemaker and caretaker for many, enjoying gardening and farming with her husband.

She is survived by two sons, Brad Baer and wife Linda of California, Mo., and Greg Baer and wife Suzanne Taggart, also of California; one daughter, Sandy Baer and husband Donald William Ruxton of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; one brother, Billy George of California, Mo.; two sisters, Shirley Baer and husband Paul of California, Mo., and Linda Wohlbold and husband Don of Wellsville, Mo.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marian Herndon and Carole Meyer.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Moniteau Evangelical Advent Church north of California. Burial was in Moniteau Evangelical Advent Cemetery. Officiating were Rev. Greg Morrow, Rev. Brian Bish and Mr. Jack Bowlin.

Kiley Pine celebrates her birthday with Heather Cavanaugh

Paul E. Schnieders, 75, of California, Mo., passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Capitol Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Mo.

He was born on March 25, 1935 the son of Ignatius Bernard Schnieders and Mildred Ann (Van Loo) Schnieders both of whom preceded him in death. He was married March 18, 1970 to Rosa Lee (Bond) Schnieders who survives of the home.

Paul was an Army Veteran. He was a Baler operator for Von -Hoffman Press in Jefferson City and also enjoyed farming. He was a member of the Family Circle CB Club.

He is survived by three sons, Mike Hardin and wife Dana, Scott and Kevin Schnieders all of California, Mo.; one daughter, Pam Mertens and husband Kenneth of Wardsville, Mo.; one brother, Robert Schnieders and wife Janet of New Bloomfield, Mo.; one sister, Josephine Leach and husband Lawrence of Jefferson City, Mo.; six grandchildren Christa Baker, Christina Sees, Chastidy Liebi, Beth Baker, Cody Schnieders and MaKayla Hardin; three great-grandchildren, Madison Leach, Braylen Baker and Gracie Ann Liebi; two stepgrandchildren, Brandy Backer and Jennifer Epley; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Colby and Keagan Epley. He was preceded in death by one son, Aaron Paul Schnieders in May 1993 and two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. Burial with military honors was at the California City Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. Scott Spurling.
