Finke Theater News

The music of "Jesse Rohrbach, Family and Friends" played to a sold-out Finke theatre Saturday Night. Many had to be turned away due to lack of seating. The audience was impressed with the variety of music performed from Elvis to John Denver to favorite hymns. Those attending left the theatre feeling that they had been royally entertained. The music was interspersed with personal stories or quips about family or farm life. This event was sponsored by The People's Bank.

The next performance at the theatre will be on Feb. 19 when the "Roadkill Quintet" is on stage. If you like jazz, ragtime with a mix of classical music this will be a show for you. They combine their music with humor that adds to the enjoyment of those attending.

March 19 is the date set for the Finke's first play. The production will be "The Nerd" which is a two act comedy set in Terre Haute, Indiana in late 1979. This will be an opportunity to see local talent on the Finke stage. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, Feb.1.

Members of the Friends of the Finke Board met this week to plan for a children's Theatre Camp to be held this summer at the Finke.

Plans are almost complete for the "Dinner with Your Darling" 2011 fund raiser for the theatre. The year's event will be on Feb. 13 at the home of Mike and Shelly Lutz. Those interested in tickets should contact Pam Green at 796-0282.
