Lupus Baptist Church will be offering two free events on concurrent weeks at the church to reach out to the surrounding community. The first will be a benefit concert by Lupus Pastor Tim Redmond on Friday, July 15, at 6:30 p.m. The second event will be a three-day Vacation Bible School held Wednesday, July 20 through Friday, July 22, starting each day at 5 p.m.
The concert will be Redmond singing and leading the audience in singing songs which detail his journey from being a skeptic to a believer.
"They teach us music is good for us physically and emotionally," Redmond said. "I am going to sing some secular songs which connect with a place I was at one time in my life and journey and what was important to me before I knew Christ. Then there will be a lot of contemporary Christian music and hymns right out of the hymnal. There will be a lot of songs and they all have a message and all apply to what I have experienced in my journey.
