Public meeting held on hazard mitigation

A public hearing to consider the five-year update of the Moniteau County Hazard Mitigation Plan was held Tuesday, July 12, at Centennial Hall. The update is required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) which must approve the plan.

Hazard Mitigation Plans are about how to avoid problems or how to take steps to minimize problems from the disaster.

Using a Power Point presentation, Susan Galeota of the Mid Missouri Regional Planning Commission (MMRPC) went over the aspects of the updated plan to those present and explained the need for it.
