New to the area and to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) is Trooper Blake A. Dettenwanger.

Monday, July 11, was the first day on the job for Dettenwanger who has been assigned to Zone 6, which covers Moniteau and Morgan counties. He will complete about three months of field training under the supervision of Cpl. Donald Barbour before working on his own. The Zone officer is Sgt. Michael Turner, Versailles.

Dettenwanger is a graduate of Montgomery County R-II High School in Montgomery City. He took advantage of the A+ Program which meant he was able to earn an Associate of Arts degree from St. Charles Community College where "all I had to pay for were books."
