Winners of the Spelling Bee held at California Middle School on the last day of school are, from left, sixth grader Brayden Ash — first place, eighth grader Haley Goans — second place and eighth grader Drew Norton — third place. The final word correctly spelled by Ash was "talc," by Goans was "spectrum" and by Norton was "falsetto."
