California School Board passes preliminary 2011-12 budget

The California R-I School Board passed a preliminary budget for the 2011-12 school year at its regular monthly meeting Wednesday, June 15, following a special Monday work session. According to Superintendent Marty Albertson, the budget shows the district to be in good shape with projected reserves of 23.28 percent. According to other information, Albertson said the State Foundation Formula is set to be funded at 92 percent because of no additional stimulus funds.

He reported the actions of Gov. Jay Nixon in removing transportation funds as well as some other funds to work with the recent disasters affecting the school district in Joplin.
