Area district basketball updates

The Prairie Home Lady Panthers defeated Tuscumbia 43-29 in the first round of the Class 1 District 9 Tournament Monday at Jamestown. The Lady Panthers, seeded fourth, advance to semifinals where they will play top-seeded Chamois at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The Jamestown Lady Eagles won their district opener against the Missouri School for the Deaf by forfeit Monday at the Class 1 District 9 Tourney at Jamestown. MSD did not have enough players to participate. The Lady Eagles, seeded third, will play second-seeded St. Elizabeth at 4 p.m. Thursday in the semifinal round of the tourney.

The championship game of the Class 1 District 9 Tournament is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday.

The Prairie Home Panthers faced the Jamestown Eagles in the district opener Tuesday at the Class 1 District 9 Tournament at Jamestown, however, game results were not available at press time. The championship game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
