Upcoming Road Work for Mid-Missouri from Wednesday, March 2-11

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the week of March 2-11, 2011. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.

Benton County

Daylight Hours

Route 65 from south of Route 52 to just north of the Osage River in Warsaw - Widening highway to four lanes continues.

  • Temporary lane closures on Route 65 can be expected as the contractor removes barrier walls at Wisdom Creek. Crews will flag traffic through the work areas.

The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2012.

Route 65 between Route 52 west and Mount Olivet Road - Roadway maintenance and repair in the northbound lanes continues through Thursday, March 3. One northbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 65 between Frisch Road and Zion Church Road - Roadway maintenance and repair in the northbound and southbound lanes will take place on Friday, March 4. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Boone County

Daylight Hours

Route 63 South Outer Road bridge over Bonne Femme Creek, east of Bonne Femme Church Road - Bridge maintenance and repair will take place on Friday, March 4. The route will be closed to traffic at this location during the work. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes during the work.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Interstate 70 Drive Southwest over Harmony Creek, 1.5 miles west of Route 740 - Bridge replacement is scheduled to begin the week of Feb. 28. The bridge will be closed until mid April. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route WW bridge over the North Fork of Grindstone Creek, approximately one mile east of Route 63 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until mid April. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Callaway County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 bridge over Gateway Railroad, approximately one mile south of County Road 210 - Bridge deck maintenance in the eastbound lanes will take place Monday, March 7 and Tuesday, March 8. One eastbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route 54 bridge over Business 54 - Bridge deck maintenance in the eastbound lanes will take place from Wednesday, Mar. 9 though Friday, Mar. 11. One eastbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route 94 bridge over the Auxvasse Creek in Steedman - Bridge maintenance and repair will take place Wednesday, March 2 through Friday, March 4. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Center Street bridge over Route 54 in Holts Summit - Bridge maintenance and repair will take place Wednesday, March 2 and Thursday, March 3. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route F bridge over Route 54 in Fulton - Bridge maintenance and repair will take place Monday, March 7 through Friday, March 11. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Camden County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 in Linn Creek at the intersections of Route V and Business Park Road/East Valley Drive - Median turn lane construction and intersection improvements. Grading and drainage work continues for the new Business Park Road and East Valley Drive widening. No traffic delays are expected at this time. This project is scheduled for completion in spring 2011.

Route W between Route 54 and end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance continues through Friday, March 4. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge to west of Route KK in Osage Beach - Grading, drainage work, paving and bridges for the new Route 54 Expressway.

  • Beginning the week of Feb. 28, traffic on Mariner Circle will be routed on the Service Road where they will access the new Case Road Interchange.

  • The new Jefferies Road is open to traffic. The contractor has some remaining tie-in work to complete and entrances along the route to finish, as weather permits.

  • Grading, drainage and erosion control work continues from Nichols Road to Jefferies Road.

  • Grading, drainage and erosion control work continues from Route KK to the west end of the project.

  • Asphalt paving continues, as weather permits, on the new service road from Oak Road to Normandy Road.

  • Asphalt paving continues, as weather permits, on the new service road from Case Road to Mariner Circle.

This portion of the project is scheduled for completion in summer 2011.

Route T bridge over Wet Glaize Creek, 3.4 miles south of Route 7 - Bridge replacement is scheduled to begin the week of March 7. The bridge will be closed to traffic through mid April. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Camden and Miller Counties

Daylight Hours

Route 242/Horseshoe Bend Parkway between Lake Ozark Community Bridge and

Route 54 - Grading and paving for a new four-lane highway. The contractor is excavating and installing erosion control. No traffic delays are expected at this time.

Cole County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 Eastbound/Route 63 Northbound at the Missouri River Bridge - Construction of a pedestrian/bicycle bridge attachment continues.

  • Concrete work is taking place on the south end of the pedestrian attachment substructure.

  • Construction on the steel ramp structure on the north end of the project is complete. Crews are painting and installing fence to the ramp structure.

  • The following changes are now in place until spring 2011:

  • The Main Street on ramp to the bridge is closed.

  • Lanes leading up to and crossing the bridge are narrowed. Motorists will cross the bridge using three 11 ft. lanes.

  • A concrete barrier is installed across the bridge to separate lanes of traffic from the construction crews and equipment.

  • The shoulder of the bridge, which also currently serves as a pedestrian path, is closed. Pedestrians should also note that no shoulder is available on the U.S. Route 54 westbound/U.S. Route 63 southbound bridge leading into Jefferson City.

  • The speed limit is reduced from 60 mph to 45 mph through the area.

The project will be complete in late spring 2011.

Route 50 between City View and Route M - Roadway maintenance and repair in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues through Friday, Mar. 11. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Cole and Miller Counties

Route AA between Route 54 in Miller County and Scrivner Road, one mile south of Russellville - Culvert pipe replacement in various locations continues through Friday, March 11. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Cooper County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route V bridge over the Petite Saline Creek, approximately two miles south of Route 179 - Bridge replacement is scheduled to begin the week of Feb. 28. The bridge will be closed until mid April. Motorists should find alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Miller County

Route 54 bridge over the Osage River - Routine bridge inspection is scheduled for the week of Feb. 28. One lane will be open through the work area.

Morgan County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 bridge over the Lamine River - Routine bridge inspection is scheduled for the week of Feb. 28. One lane will be open through the work area.

Route 50 bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad, east of Route 135 - Routine bridge inspection is scheduled for the week of Feb. 28. One lane will be open through the work area

Route W between Old Route W and Ironwood Road - Culvert pipe replacement continues through Wednesday, March 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route BB bridge over Richland Creek, approximately one mile west of Route D - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until early April. Motorists should seek alternate routes. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
