Moniteau County Soil and Water Conservation District to hold 35th Annual Appreciation and Awards Banquet

The Moniteau County Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting its 35th Annual Appreciation and Awards Banquet on Tuesday, March 29. The event will be held at the United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, 101 N. Oak, California, with doors open at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

All Moniteau County landowners and their families are invited to attend. Awards will be presented to John Clay as Cooperator of the Year, and the teachers of Latham R-V Elementary School as Teachers of the Year. Winners of the Conservation Poster Contest, "Forest for People - More than You Can Imagine!" will be recognized. Fifth and sixth graders in Moniteau County schools participate in this program. Conservation updates and special recognitions will be announced.

An election of supervisors to the Moniteau County Soil and Water Conservation District Board will be held with voting between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Soil and Water Conservation District office at 410 W. Buchanan St., California, and 4-7:30 p.m. at the voting table at the church. Nominees for supervisor in Area III (Pilot Grove, Burris Fork and Harrison Townships) are Rodney Fulks and Larry Peck and Area IV (Willow Fork and Moreau Townships) are Carl Allee and Michael Crane. The results of the election will be announced at the end of the program.
