FEMA recommends emergency supply kit

The possibility of a natural disaster of some kind striking the area seems much less remote than only a few months ago.
If the recent spate of tornados and floods isn't enough, earthquakes have brought major disasters to areas around the world. Just to show the central United States isn't immune, there have been a few minor earthquakes in Arkansas.
This year is the 200th anniversary of one of the largest earthquakes to hit North America. The New Madrid region is still considered to be at great risk of another major earthquake.
For this reason, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has developed a Ready Campaign to encourage Americans to prepare for the possibility of earthquakes and other natural disasters.
