After finishing in the top 25 at the Class 2 District 4 Golf Tournament at Ashland April 28, California's Eric Birdsong and Grant Burger advanced to Class 2 Sectionals at Tanglewood Golf Course, Fulton, May 4, where Birdsong finished in a tie for 21st with 88 individually, while Burger finished in a tie for 30th with 95.
"I'm real proud of the way Grant and Eric played all year and continued to get better," California Coach Doug Miller said. "Both of them just had a couple of bad holes at sectionals that caused them to miss making it to state. They played pretty good though. I'm looking forward to working with them and the rest of the boys this summer. We should have a good shot at winning districts next year."
"Miller added, "It's sad to see the year come to an end. I've had so much fun with this group of boys."
