Upcoming Road Work for Mid-Missouri May 11 - 20

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for May 11 - May 20. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule.

Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.

Cole County

• Missouri 179 between Route N and the Jefferson City limits - Roadway resurfacing will take place Monday through Friday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route T from just north of U.S. 50 to Missouri 179 - Partial surface overlay will take place Tuesday through Friday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Boone County

• Interstate 70 between the Missouri River Bridge and Route BB - Concrete barriers are in place on the eastbound shoulder. Crews are working in the shoulder area to excavate and repair a portion of roadside fill to prevent the soil from sliding and damaging the pavement. Both eastbound lanes are open to traffic during the work. The ramp to Route BB is narrowed. The work continues through late July.

• I-70 Northeast Outer Road bridge over Little Cedar Creek, one mile east of Route Z - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until early June. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work. This is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

• I-70 between mile marker 126 and mile marker 130 - Concrete replacement in the westbound lanes will take place Tuesday through Thursday. One westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Boone and Cooper counties

• I-70 between the Saline County line and the Callaway County line - Roadway striping will take place in the eastbound and westbound lanes Tuesday through Thursday, May 19. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area. This is a moving operation, and motorists should drive through the area with caution.

Callaway County

• U.S. 63 between U.S. 54 and the Turkey Creek Bridge, located 0.5 miles south of Route 54 - Roadway maintenance and repair in the northbound lanes will take place Tuesday and Wednesday. One northbound lane will be open through the work area.

• Route PP between Missouri 94 and Route BB - Partial surface overlay will take place Tuesday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• U.S. 63 bridge over Cedar Creek, 1.5 miles south of the Boone/Callaway County line - Bridge-deck replacement and upgrading guard rail in the northbound lanes.

  • The northbound bridge is closed to traffic until late May. During this time, northbound traffic will be redirected onto one southbound lane for approximately a mile.

  • Bridge painting will take place after the bridge reopens, but some lane closures may still be needed to finish that work. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Camden County

• Missouri 5 Hurricane Deck bridge over the Osage Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks - Routine bridge inspection and maintenance will take place Tuesday through Friday. One lane will be open through the work area.

• U.S. 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge to west of Route KK in Osage Beach - Grading, drainage work, paving and bridges for the new 54 Expressway.

  • Traffic on Laguna Beach Road is routed on the service road where they will access the new Case Road Interchange.

  • Grading continues from Laguna Beach to the Grand Glaize bridge.

  • The contractor is placing rock base on the new 54 Expressway from Route KK to the west end of the project.

  • The contractor is building the new Route KK bridge while traffic is using existing Route KK.

  • Work continues on the New Nichols Road. Minor traffic delays can be expected as construction equipment accesses these areas. The new Nichols Road is tentatively scheduled to open to traffic this week.

  • Key Largo Road traffic has moved to their new location west of where they currently access existing 54.

This portion of the project is scheduled for completion in the summer.

Camden and Miller counties

• Missouri 242/Horseshoe Bend Parkway between Lake Ozark Community Bridge and U.S. 54 - Grading and paving for a new four-lane highway.

  • The contractor is excavating and placing material on the western end of the project near the Lake Ozark Community Bridge.

  • Drainage pipe is being placed near the west end of the project, and construction is under way on a box culvert farther east in the work area.

No traffic delays expected at this time. This project is scheduled for completion in late winter.

Maries County

• Missouri 42 between U.S. 63 and the Miller County line - Partial surface overlay will take place Tuesday through Thursday, May 19. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Miller County

• U.S. 54 from Business 54 near Eldon to the Cole County line - Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes is scheduled to begin Wednesday, weather permitting. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area. This project will continue through early June.

• Missouri 52 bridge over Tavern Creek, approximately two miles east of Route E - Bridge maintenance and repair will take place Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Missouri 87 between Business 54 in Eldon and the Moniteau County line and Route W between Business 54 in Osage Beach and Route Z - Partial surface overlay will take place Tuesday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Moniteau County

• U.S. 50 at Missouri 87 over the Union Pacific Railroad - Permit work will be performed by Union Pacific Railroad on Tuesday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route E between Route CC and the Morgan County line - Partial paving and repair continues through Friday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Morgan County

• U.S. 50, just west of Route D - Culvert pipe replacement will take place Tuesday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route W between Missouri 52 and Route AA - Partial paving and repair will take place Tuesday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Osage County

• Route K between Missouri 89 and end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance and repair will take place Tuesday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route Z between Missouri 100 and end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance and repair will take place Wednesday and Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Pettis, Morgan and Moniteau counties

• U.S. 50 from east of Sedalia city limits to Tipton city limits - Roadway resurfacing continues in the driving lanes and shoulders through early fall. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
