Mr. Robert "Bob" Hugh Murphy 49, of Vancleave, Miss., has gone home to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in Vancleave.

He was born on September 1, 1961 in California, Mo.

Mr. Murphy was a Navy veteran and an avid hunter and fisherman, who was always volunteering and willing to help others. He had a big heart and always enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved his pets, which he treated like his children, collected knives, and loved all children as though they where his own. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Vancleave. He will be sadly missed and will never be forgotten.

Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Murphy and grandparents, David and Pearl Murphy and Jack and Edna Pace.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pam Murphy; children, Brian (Alison Scruggs) Murphy and Penny (Ben) Ridgdell; siblings, Patti (Clark) Wilcox, Richard Murphy, and Barbara (Bob) Vaughan; in-laws, Ted and Inez White; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A celebration of life service for Mr. Murphy was held Friday, May 13, 2011 beginning at 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Vancleave.

Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated of Moss Point-Escatawpa, Miss. was in charge of arrangements.
