The annual California High School Track and Field Banquet was held May 24 at the high school commons where coaches, athletes, family and friends gathered to reflect on the 2011 season and acknowledge those who contributed to its success.

Following the meal, CHS Head Track Coach Rick Edwards said a special thank you to those who helped out at the meets held at the new California track this season. "It takes a lot of work to pull off a track meet and we really appreciate everyone who helped out."

Edwards thanked Coaches Rich Matzes, John Butler and Josh Grotzinger for their contributions and dedication to the track team. "Coach Matzes has assaulted the record books since he's been here and he's done great with our jumpers. Coach Grotzinger has done great work with our distance runners as has Coach Butler with our throwers."
