Upcoming Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Cole County

• Cole County Public Works officials plan to replace a drainage structure and install new drop inlets, as well as do curb and gutter work, in the 5200 block of Bagnall Drive, between Northway Drive and Starlite Drive.

The work is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. Tuesday, and the road will be closed to all traffic until the culvert pipe installations are completed.

Should inclement weather occur or additional repairs are needed, the road may need to be closed longer.

• U.S. 54 between Old Bass Road and Route CC — Improvements at 12 intersections along 8.5 miles of U.S. 54 to improve safety and traffic flow.

  • Construction continues near the Honey Creek Road intersection through late November.

  • Construction is scheduled to begin this week at Cassidy Road. Motorists should expect periodic lane closures in both eastbound and westbound lanes of U.S. 54 during the work. The entire corridor is scheduled for completion in fall 2012.

• U.S. 50 bridge over the Moreau River, east of McCarty Street in Jefferson City — Bridge maintenance and repair in the westbound lanes will take place Monday through Friday. One westbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

• U.S. 50/63 between City View Drive and Shamrock Road in Jefferson City — Roadway maintenance and repair in the eastbound lanes will take place Monday through Wednesday. One eastbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Boone County

• U.S. 63 from just north of Missouri 163 to Route H — Construction of a new diamond interchange and southbound lanes. Motorists should expect periodic lane closures.

  • The speed limit has been reduced to 60 mph through the work zone.

  • Route H is temporarily closed at 63. Traffic is being detoured to Hardwick Lane, located near the 63 roadside park. Route H will remain closed at 63 until the new interchange opens to traffic.

  • The contractor continues excavation near Turkey Creek.

Camden County

• U.S. 54 between the Grand Glaize bridge to west of Route KK in Osage Beach — Grading, drainage work, paving and bridges for the new 54 Expressway.

  • Final paving and shoulder work will continue at all new service road connections. Minor traffic delays can be expected.

  • The eastbound and westbound 54 traffic to the eastbound Grand Glaize bridge is being redirected. The westbound bridge is closed to traffic so crews can build the tie-in connector roads from the bridge to the new expressway. One lane in each direction will be open to traffic in the work area. The new traffic configuration will remain in place through late November.

The entire project is scheduled for completion late this year.

Camden and Miller counties

• Missouri 242/Horseshoe Bend Parkway between the Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge and U.S. 54 — Grading and paving for a new four-lane highway.

  • Minor traffic delays can be expected on Fish Haven Road as motorists are routed around and through the new 242 construction. Traffic on Fish Haven Road may be stopped periodically while the contractor hauls material across the road.

  • Traffic is using the new Route MM and Horseshoe Bend Parkway Connection. Work continues in this area as the contractor finishes tie-ins.

This project is scheduled for completion in late winter.
