Missouri 117th District Rep. Caleb Jones served as guest speaker at the Latham School Veterans Day Assembly Friday, Nov. 11. The assembly was presented by the seventh and eighth grade students.

The event began with the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem. Following introductory remarks by Destiny Dowell, music teacher Ginger Moore and the Latham music class led the assembly in singing "God Bless America."

Rep. Jones, introduced by Ashtyn Bieri, began by saying veterans should be honored because they put themselves at the forefront of the defense of their fellow citizens.
