Being an independent, locally owned and operated bank holds many advantages according to The Tipton Latham Bank, N.A., President John Allee and Board of Directors Chairman Jack Allee. Having the ability to make all their decisions from their main office in Tipton and not need to have them go through corporate offices allows them to make their decisions fast and more effective for the community they serve.

"We are a locally owned and operated community bank," John said. "We were chartered in 1906 and we started out as a state bank. In 2001, we converted to a national charter and are now a national bank. We have two banks, the main office in Tipton and our facility in Latham. Back when it was The Bank of Latham our main bank was in Latham. We moved our main office to Tipton in 1982. We are basically a general commercial bank. We serve about any type of banking need. Whether it is a home loan, Ag loan or consumer type loan. We offer all the deposit type products you will find at any financial institution. We have an ATM through the Shazam network which allows those who bank with us and live in other cities to be able to go to a participating Shazam ATM and bank for free. We do not issue our own credit cards. We do have internet banking and bill pay. We offer safe deposit boxes and night depositaries for our business customers."
