California Pintos wrap up season with football banquet

The California High School football teams wrapped up the 2011 season with the annual CHS Football Banquet Monday, Nov. 14, at the high school commons, where the football players and coaches gathered for a meal with family, friends and Pinto football fans to reflect on the 2011 season.

The carry-in meal, which included a main course provided by Burgers' Smokehouse, was followed by an awards banquet, where coaches recognized each of the Pinto football players for their individual contributions to the season.

Coach Richard Matzes recognized the freshmen, while Coach Rick Edwards recognized the JV players.

After letters were presented to lettermen, Head Coach Marty Albertson presented the following awards to members of the varsity team: Best Newcomer Award, Seth Fairchild; Best Defensive Player, Jerry Lutz; Best Practice Player, Jaden Barr and Dylan Albertson; Best Offensive Player, Anthony Price; Best Special Teams Player, Price and Jonathan Goans; Best Offensive Lineman, Jared Kendrick; and Best Defensive Lineman, Alec Ramsdell.
