The California High School varsity cross country team competed at the Class 2 District 7 Meet at Tiger Jack's Golf Course, Holden, Saturday, Oct. 29, where the Lady Pintos finished in second place as a team to qualify to advance to the 2011 MSHSAA Boys and Girls Cross Country Championships Saturday, Nov. 5, at Oak Hills Golf Center (5K), Jefferson City.
Friday, October 28
The California Pintos traveled to Eldon for game #3 in Class 3 District 8 football Thursday, Oct. 27, where they lost to the Mustangs 38-0 to end the season 5-5.
Thursday, October 27
The California High School varsity volleyball team faced top-seeded Stover in the championship match at the Class 2 District 13 Volleyball Tournament Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Cole Camp, where the Lady Pintos, the #2 seed, suffered a loss to the Lady Bluebirds to finish the tourney in second place.

The Awards Committee of the California Area Chamber of Commerce is soliciting nominations for the 2011 Citizen of the Year and the 2011 Business of the Year.
Bids have been accepted for construction of a new Moniteau County jail facility on the north side of the Courthouse Square at the corner of North Street and North East Street (Highway 87).

California High School’s FCCLA attended the Region 13 meeting on Thursday, Oct. 12, in Pilot Grove where they donated money for the Joplin Relief and shared chapter updates.
Fifteen California High School students participated in a speech competition at Smith Cotton on Saturday, Oct. 15, bringing home a fourth place finish.

California High School senior Tanner Roberts competed at the Class 1 State Golf Championships Oct. 17-18 at Silo Ridge Golf Club, Bolivar, where she finished tied for 35th place.
The Russellville High School varsity volleyball team faced Eugene in the first round of the Class 2 District 7 Volleyball Tournament Monday at Blair Oaks High School, Wardsville, where the Lady Indians, 10-13-3 and seeded third, defeated the Lady Eagles, the sixth seed, 25-19, 25-16.
The California Middle School seventh grade volleyball team hosted Versailles for the Lady Pintos' final match of the season Oct. 17, where the Lady Pintos captured a win, 25-23, 25-23, to end the season undefeated 12-0.
The California High School volleyball teams hosted Smith-Cotton Oct. 17, which was Senior NIght and the last match of the regular season for the Lady Pintos, where the varsity lost to the Lady Tigers 20-25 and 24-26.

The California Pintos hosted Knob Noster for Homecoming Friday, Oct. 7, at Riley Field, where, after a long night filled with one penalty call after another, the Pintos defeated the Panthers 49-9.

The California High School volleyball teams hosted Versailles Tuesday, Oct. 4, where the varsity Lady Pintos won their match 25-17, 21-25 and 25-17.
