California Lady Pintos capture third place finish at Warrensburg Tourney

The California High School varsity volleyball team participated in the Warrensburg Tournament Saturday, Oct. 1, where the Lady Pintos captured a third place finish.

"This is the best finish we've had at the Warrensburg Tournament," California Head Coach Ashley Atteberry said.

In pool play at the tourney, the Lady Pintos finished 2-0-1. California defeated Boonville 25-18 and 25-22, then ended up with a split against Santa Fe, 25-17 and 19-25. The Lady Pintos went on to defeat Warrensburg 25-18 and 25-18 and were ultimately seeded first in their pool.

The starters

California then lost to state-ranked Cameron, 25-22, 21-25 and 11-25. The Lady Pintos then faced Boonville in the match for third place, which California won 12-25, 26-24 and 25-21.

Previously, the Lady Pintos traveled to Mexico Sept. 26, where the varsity captured a match win, 25-15 and 25-14. Taylor Walters led California with 11 service points. Kaitlyn Allison had eight digs and Abby Lueckenotte had eight assists. Sydney Deeken contributed seven kills and three blocks, and Holly Wolfrum chipped in with five kills.
