The California Lady Pintos opened the Class 3 District 13 Softball Tournament Oct. 5 with a 15-4 win against Marshall.
The Lady Owls scored three runs in the first inning, however, the Lady Pintos brought four home in the third inning to lead 4-3. California added one run in the fourth inning and three in the fifth to lead 8-4. Marshall managed a final run in the fifth inning to trail 8-5. The Lady Pintos sealed the deal with seven runs in the sixth inning to take the win 15-4.
Elle Miller recorded the win with eight strikeouts and led California hits with two triples and six RBI. Taylor Ratcliff followed with a double, two singles and two RBI. Alayna York contributed a double, a single and RBI and Rachel Oerly had a double and a single.
