Jamestown loses to Pilot Grove in district semifinals

The Jamestown Lady Eagles defeated Glasgow 2-1 in the opener at the Class 1 District 7 Softball Tournament Oct. 5 at New Franklin.

"This was one of the most intense games I've been a part of," Jamestown Coach E.H. Hirschvogel said. "We led 1-0 after the first inning, then Glasgow tied it up in the sixth inning by bunting it to death. We stole home to lead 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, then set them down one, two, three in the top of the seventh to take the win. I thought our defense was great. I knew there wouldn't be many runs scored in this game, fortunately, we made some things happen and found a way to win."
