Spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and desserts were served at the Russellville Elementary/Middle School Sunday, Oct. 9, to raise funds for the Russellville/Lohman Fire Protection District (RLFPD). Malinda Fast, a firefighter/EMT with RLFPD, was the chairperson for the event.

"This is the first fundraiser for RLFPD," Fast said. "We decided to do a spaghetti dinner. We are trying to raise funds for uniforms. We are one of the smallest departments in Cole County and as such do not get as much funding."

The support of the community means a great deal to FLFPD because of their size. Fast said they put out fires when called and also do medical calls. To help out the community they are also looking at continually improving their S.O.G. score which helps lower insurance rates for area residents.
