The California Middle School seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams traveled to Versailles Oct. 6, where both teams won their matches.
The seventh grade Lady Pintos defeated Versailles 25-22, 25-11.
"I'm so proud of the way the seventh grade team watches their opponents and then adapts to take away whatever is working for the opposing team," California Coach Tiffany Brown said.
Emma Bailey led California serves with 13, followed by Cameron Meyer and Elaine Vargas with nine each. Meyer led passing with 15, followed by Bailey with 13 and Kayla Allison with 11. Carlie Bleich and Monica Whitson led setting with seven and six, respectively. Bailey and Alayna Porter led attacks with three each, followed by Leanna Reichl with two.
